Throwback Thursday – A bit of Then & Now :)

LOL so OMG – I recently came across a batch of pics I hadn’t seen in a VERY long time and thought I would share them with you here.

The one above was taken at my desk, back when I worked for my much loved mum, Sheila Fordham. at Pegasus Travel in the South Shore Mall in Bay Shore NY, somewhere in the early 90s. (OMG over 30 years ago!!) I really enjoyed that job – well working for family, especially trying to fill mall hours at the freaking holidays, wasn’t always ideal, but in hindsight it was a wonderful time of my life. I remember so many of our regular clients. People that saved all year to be able to afford to take their kids to Disney or go on a cruise or a trip to Acapulco with their sweetheart… and my mum always told me to do the best you could to get the the best rate possible for them. It’s the only business I could think of where you spent MORE time searching for the cheapest rates and the best possible deals so you you could save them money and make LESS commission. But our people were so loyal – it made my heart happy! I remember once that I applied for a job at Liberty Travel (the competition) and their attitude was to upgrade and take them for every sent you could. I walked out of the interview know I couldn’t work like that. That just was not how I was raised. πŸ™‚ I look at that chaotic mess that was my desk now, and think OMG how did I deal with that? And yet, a lot of those travel books were really necessary in the very early days of internet. Yes, I remember pre internet days… and my godchild is sure that makes me a dinosaur, lol hahaha

These were taken on my honeymoon with Myke, while hiking in California. We married on 9-6-1996 at an S&M club on Long Island called Lady Lori’s Dark Castle. I remember my mom’s travel agency was in a bit of trouble at the time and even as we were packing up to head out on our honeymoon, I knew she needed the money so I gave her all the cash we had gotten for the wedding, and hoped she’d be able to give us some of it back so we could eat while were were in CA. πŸ™‚ Yes, it all worked out ok in the end, but it was a fairly stressful time even though it probably doesn’t show in my exuberant. face.

Ohh and so while I am here – I will add a few pics taken this week wearing the cute new top I got as a birthday gift from a dear friend. πŸ™‚ AND a lovely new catsuit also from an admirer! Thanks so MUCH guys!! MEOW! <grin>
