And OMG!!! This week was my first official concert of the season! I saw “We The Kings” at the Palladium! They TRULY are my absolute favorite band these days! (Actually they have been since the last time I raved about them when Coley surprised me) Their songs just make me happy and break into little spontaneous dance breaks wherever I am. <grin> But one of my favorite parts is how genuinely freaking nice they still are even after 20 years in the biz! (Happy 20 year anniversary this year!) I love how Travis talks to us on stage about their kids and wives and give you glimpses of who they are rather than just going through the motions of playing the songs or giving a canned performance that feels akin to AI. I truly love this band and am actually tempted to get one of their logos as a tattoo. (I haven’t gotten a tattoo in over 45 years folks but I like them THAT much!)

Anyway, I drove 2 hours in the pouring rain to get to the venue 3.5 hours ahead of time, so I could be sure I had a good place to see them from, and it really paid off! I was right in front of the stage with no barricade at all. It was amazing! I was so close to Charles the lead guitarist I could have reached out and touched him almost the whole show and at the end of the concert he personal put one of their custom guitar pics in my freaking hand. Like holy shit!! :O

Oh and earlier, while I was waiting outside in the chilly rainy weather for hours, Travis (lead singer) walked out and said hello, asked my name and chatted me up for a few mins, giving me a chance to gush about how much joy they add to my life. 6 hours later at the Meet and Greet he remembered my name and gave me an extra hug. Yes, I am “fan girl-ing” like a teenager but did I mention that I REALLY LOVE this band? I am seeing them twice more this year – at Warped Tour and at Bethel Woods and I know they will be awesome but this was them headlining in such an intimate, cozy venue that it was just the absolute best experience I could imagine. 😀 <huge grin!!>
