A sad Farewell & More

So by the time Monday rolled around my sweet Lucky Boy was far worse and we decided the kindest thing to do would be to let him go, however when I called the vet that happily charged us $1800 for tests etc I was told they couldn’t spare us 10 mins to put this sweet boy out of his suffering and wanted us to wait at least 6 hours until end of day to bring him in! Ughh! So I opted to go to the emergency clinic in Canton – who were wonderful and compassionate and helped him cross “the bridge” ironically on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. They met us in the parking lot to take him inside and set him up for the injection and I got to hold him in my arms as he went to sleep for the last time. 🙁

Lucky came into my life in the winter of 2013 from the stoner house across the street. I would find him on my back porch in the middle of the night, even in the dead of winter crying and I of course would bring him in to warm up. He started spending more and more time at my house and fit right in with the other kitties with almost no “getting used to each other drama”. And he was just the sweetest, most friendly cat – he would greet EVERY SINGLE PERSON that came into my house by hopping up on the nearest counter or table and pretty much putting himself right in your face until you said hello back, 🙂 God help any non cat people that came to my house. LOL. Everyone on our street knew “Lucky Boy” and a bunch of them fed him treats anytime he visited. (that was the name he came with and I decided it suited him). Anyway – to say that he is missed is totally an understatement and while I am glad he is no longer hurting I think it will be a long time before I get used to him not coming to greet me every time I walk in the door. 🙁

I am still waiting on my car but today we had it towed to the dealership since my usual mechanic is in way over his head right now. I have been promised that I should have an answer by Monday which is at least progress so I am hopeful!

We did manage to get in a really nice hike this week – a section of the Appalachian Trail After Silver Hill up to Pine Knob Loop. It was a beautiful day to be outdoors working up a bit of a sweat. Oh and we went to the 2023 Cat Video Film Festival at Real Art Ways Theatre in Hartford. It was actually really fun and I definitely needed both those lovely outings. 🙂

I also had couple of really lovely sessions – one of the most delightful ones was with this delicious little hardbody boy toy. We did some bondage, some CBT and nipple play and a lovely time was had by us both. 😉

And I’ll finish up today with a few selfies especially for my boot and leather lovers –

Sounds like that first vet needs a good Ballbusting session, my style! Sorry they treated you like garbage. Glad your kitty is in a better place.

Interestingly enough, both of the vets I dealt with at Sand Rd Animal Hospital were women. I would have expected a little more compassion or at least a last money grab. They missed out on that last $190 charge for the euthanasia. It definitely felt like all they cared about was the money. 🙁
